Daniel Peter “Pete” Elliott, 78, passed away on January 28, 2016, in Nashville, NC. Born in Mannington, WV, he was the son of the late Samuel and Florence Elliott.

He was a retired Electronic Supervisor from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an Industrial Arts Teacher for the Chesapeake School System for 12 years.

Left to cherish his memory: his wife, Janice H. Elliott; three daughters, Mary E. Strickland and husband Michael of Nashville, NC, Dana E. Wright and husband Carl of Craddockville, VA, and Amy E. O’Malley and husband Chris of Warrenton, NC; four sisters, Sally Mills, Phoebia Dickinson, Florence Kilcoyne and husband Bill, and Sue Gonzales; two brothers, Joe and Jack Elliott; seven grandchildren, Cole and Casey Strickland, David and Ryan Wright, Shane, Ben and Rose O’Malley; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Lee Elliott and Sara Arnold.

Pete, better known as Pepa, has left an imprint on a number of individuals that have crossed his path. He was a good friend, a great father, a wonderful grandfather, and a loving husband. Pepa is a man of many talents. He was a skilled carpenter, a plumber, an electrician, and an all-around “Mr. Fix It.” His daughters and grandchildren always had a list of things for him to do and fix. He will be forever known for his story telling, his harmonica playing, and his contagious smile. You couldn’t do anything but laugh when you were in his presence. He was a dedicated Christian and has always loved the Lord. He always taught us that family is everything, to never give up, and to love the Lord with all our heart. He leaves a legacy to all that knew him and he is now sitting in heaven, cancer free, telling stories with Jesus.
